Before beginning the initial process of enlightenment, we feel like we know it all, we are content as individuals, safe in our communities and conformity, we feel powerful and content with who we are. It is through the first Dark Night of the Soul that this illusion gets shattered; that’s when ascension starts. Your true power begins to initiate and the power you’ve always had, your faith, your determination, your sheer will power carries you through. You face the almost insurmountable task of recreating your belief systems and enabling a safe rationality from which to function, only this is almost the complete opposite as the one that made you feel so safe before. Now you are delving into the unknown, going against conformity, needing to break free of all the constraints on your life and live in absolute peace and freedom, at one with Source and the Universe. You yearn for oneness with mankind and start to see the greater good, while life’s injustices at large physically pain you. All this is a massive struggle, a battle with your Ego as you search to connect with your higher Self. You might have more than one Dark Night of the Soul, you might lose everything and have to start over, maybe repeatedly, but your power increases every step of the way as you enlighten. You intrinsically know what you are headed for and you know it will replace whatever you lost along the path. There will be better experiences, new opportunities, enriching relationships and multiple blessings, you just have to trust the process. The key to this is trusting your power, the power you were born with and that grows within you every step of the of the way.
