What’s Waiting for You.

There will be times as you elevate when things seem so intense, so out of control and unfathomable, that you will want to retreat into the past, back into the former version of yourself, the person you last understood yourself as, before you understood nothing at all. This is normal, it’s all part of the process, but don’t look back. You are not going that way. Think of the moments that took your everything to overcome, the strength of the mental hurdles you battled to put your past behind you. You are romanticizing only the good parts now. Your mind is playing tricks on you because the task in front of you seems so huge and insurmountable. It’s not. You’ve just leveled up. You’ve come through some terrifying, completely life-altering experiences, and you fear the path ahead. You long for the comfort of who you once were and the people who loved you because this new life is lonely and your new mindset feels so strange, but you know deep down if you go back you’ll undo all the good you’ve done for yourself in recent years and all the pain and heartache you went through getting to where you are now will have been for nothing. You know you’ve changed too much and the people that you miss haven’t. You’re in a period of stagnancy right when you’ve left the old and before the new has come, and it’s overwhelming and terrifying. “What if it wasn’t worth it?” That thought will plague you. Then, slowly, day by day, things will start to shift. You will find yourself drawn to a new kind of being. Things that never interested you in the past will begin to fascinate you. You will begin to research and explore new ideas, take up new hobbies, get out there and meet new kinds of people that are completely different from yourself but on the same journey and you find yourself changing and becoming like them. You become open to all walks of life and find other cultures fascinating. You explore different religions, languages and spiritualities, food and music, and you thirst for more. You realize that the people from your past would never engage in the interests you have now and would laugh at you, and you feel sorry for them. Your eyes are awake to the world, and their’s are not. So you feel at peace leaving the past in the past where it belongs, as you finally see you simply have to sit with periods of uncomfortably and not allow yourself to look backward.  As you ascend, which is a constant forward movement, your life will continue to open up to experiences and relationships you would have never fathomed possible if you had run back to the past and not allowed yourself to be vulnerable and take risks, to forge ahead into the next awakening, doing the shadow work, going through the Dark Nights of the Soul, putting your faith in the Universe and trusting, simply trusting, that whatever is waiting for you in the future is better than what you had left behind in the past.
